This is just really fucking depressing, ok. Just imagine for a moment that Curiosity is a fully function AI. Like the kind built by Tony Stark. And it’s now been stranded on a completely foreign planet. There’s literally nothing else around to interact with. It’s conscious of its actions but it doesn’t have the control necessary to change them. Instead, it’s just going to be repeat itself over and over, going in circles around the desolate planet.

And really? Watching the NASA specials where the entire NASA team referred to Curiosity as ‘she’ just made me laugh. That poor rover.
